The inspiration for the Jungle Jeans family activity centre was developed from the work and dedication of one lady, Jean Harris.

Jean worked for many years as a classroom assistant in a Southampton school for children with physical and mental disabilities. She died in 1997 from liver cancer, but left a lasting impression, inspiring her daughters to reach for and achieve their dreams. Her daughter Nicola put that concept into one project, her dream – Jungle Jeans.

By 2008 the centre will be complete, with a sensory room for disabled children and babies and a soft play activity centre for the more able bodied ones and their families.

Inspired by her mother and with the help and support of her husband Imed (a catering manager), Nicola (a former children’s entertainer), not only has the vision but also the talent to achieve her dream.
